Command Chief Master Sgt. Denny Richardson to Serve as Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Commander of 15,000-Member First Air Force
From a press release: Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that the New York Air National Guard’s senior enlisted leader, Command Chief Master Sgt. Denny Richardson, of Schuylerville, has been selected to serve as the command chief for the 15,000-member First Air Force.
Headquartered in Panama City, Florida, the First Air Force is responsible for aerospace control and air defense of continental United States and handles duties of the North American Aerospace Defense Command, which is the joint Canadian-U.S. entity responsible for the air defense of North America.
"Chief Richardson's career epitomizes public service and I am proud to call him a fellow New Yorker," Governor Hochul said. "His experience serving as a member of the country's largest Air National Guard and the wise counsel he has provided to its commander have made him uniquely qualified for this job. The First Air Force and the nation will be well served with him in this critical role."
Chief Richardson has served as the senior enlisted advisor to the commander of the 5,880-member New York Air National Guard since 2020. In this role, he advises the Air Guard’s Commander, Major General Denise Donnell, on issues such as enlisted training, readiness, and morale.
Chief Richardson will begin his new position in April, reporting to First Air Force Commander Lt. General Steven Nordhaus, and will serve as command chief for three years. The First Air Force Commander named the command chief after interviewing qualified non-commissioned officers from across the country for the post.
Community Invited to Join Troy Savings Bank Music Hall in Honoring Longtime Volunteer Leaders, March 21
From a press release: The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall was a gift to the people of Troy in 1875. An acoustic and architectural marvel and a showcase for the city’s 19 th century glamour, it is still a community treasure nearly 150 years after it opened.
On March 21, the boards of the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall Foundation and the Troy Savings Bank Charitable Foundation, together with friends and colleagues, will gather to honor two of the people who worked tirelessly to preserve this historic venue — former Troy Savings Bank President Daniel J. Hogarty Jr. and George Arakelian, the retired president of Standard Manufacturing Company. Both are retiring after years of volunteer leadership on the Foundations’ Board of Directors.
The reception is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the bank lobby of Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, located at 30 2nd St. in Troy, followed by a concert by the swing band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.
“If acoustics were girders and harmony was plaster, the Music Hall could exist without maintenance, but a long line of supporters off stage — first bankers and then volunteers — are responsible for the preservation and upkeep of this community treasure, and we look forward to honoring and thanking two legendary business leaders and volunteers who have given so much of their time and expertise to the people of Troy,” said Jon Elbaum, Executive Director of the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall.
