Sabrina Houser built Capital CFO by providing her clients individualized service, but her latest move connects the boutique financial services company with the global payroll services provider ADP. That is not the only change at the Saratoga Springs company.
In the past three weeks, Capital CFO has hired four new staff members and plans to bring on at least two people per month throughout the rest of the year, said Houser, the founder and owner of Capital CFO.
The partnership with ADP allows her company to offer payroll packages as well as its existing bookkeeping, recruitment, CFO, personal finance and nonprofit consulting services, Houser said.
Houser has notified her clients who might have payroll needs about Capital CFO’s newest offerings. Several have already requested proposals.
“They’re our payroll provider and it felt like a holistic piece so we can offer our clients financial services and now payroll services,” Houser said. “We’re referring customers there anyway, so it felt like a natural fit.”
“We’re their CFOs so we, at times, take a look for them at their vendors to make sure they’re getting the best services, so it’s a really natural fit to be able to say, ‘We’re offering this, too,’” she said.
Houser founded Capital CFO in 2016, but also worked for a nonprofit until January 2020, when she left to focus on Capital CFO full time. She planned to take three years to define the business cycle.
“That’s one thing COVID has taken from us,” Houser said. “I don’t know if we would be doing better or worse with or without COVID.”
Teaming with ADP further supports Capital CFO’s commitment to personalized service, while providing the prestige of the 80-year-old international payroll service.
“It is a really good opportunity to close that gap for our clients,” Houser said. “That’s what pushed us: It’s our values but also allows our clients to have a really strong company behind them.”
