A statement from Saratoga County today:
Saratoga County's Potential Vaccine Recipient Interest List has over 11,000 names on it. Sign-up opened on Feb. 17.
This list is used by the county to help identify people who are eligible under the various state guidelines to potentially receive a vaccine. If a vaccine becomes available, eligible people are randomly selected from the list and contacted. Being on the list does not guarantee an inoculation.
Residents may register directly online at www.saratogacountyny.gov/vax, by calling 518-693-1075, 8 a.m. to 4p.m. weekdays, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekends. A new Outbound Call Center will be used to contact people for appointments. Saratoga County is distributing 40,000 postcards to seniors encouraging them to sign up.
Changes in guidance is allowing the county to administer the Pfizer vaccine; previous cold storage rules made the Pfizer vaccine hard to administer so the Moderna vaccine was used. The county expects to receive the Johnson & Johnson vaccines to be used along with Pfizer and Moderna.
Currently, 43,637, or 19.0%, of county residents have received at least one dose of vaccine and 24,248 or 10.5% of county residents have completed their vaccination series. The county’s seven-day rolling average percent positivity is 2.4%, which is an 11% decrease from a week ago.
“The continued progress that is being made in the county is encouraging,” said Dr. Daniel Kuhles, Commissioner of Saratoga County Public Health Services. “However, it is imperative that we do not lower our guard and leave our communities and hospitals vulnerable to another surge in cases.”
A statement from Warren County today:
Warren County Health Services has received an allotment of 1,170 vaccine doses for those who are ages 65 and over. They have been provided to Glens Falls Hospital for use with hospital primary care physician patients, including residents who have registered for Warren County’s new vaccine waiting list. That allocation is in addition to 100 that New York State designated for Warren County’s 65-and-over group earlier this week.
More information on Warren County’s vaccine waiting list (for residents of Warren and Hamilton counties) can be found here on the Warren County COVID Hub website: https://bit.ly/3mu4n4D.
New York State has established guidelines that require Warren County Health Services to administer its regular weekly supply of vaccines only to certain essential worker groups in Phase 1B. A first-dose clinic was held Tuesday for teachers, grocery store staff and transit workers, arranged through employers. 92 doses were administered, and plans for upcoming clinics are being formulated.
New York State recently expanded the pool of eligible workers for vaccine, and they will be added to Warren County clinics as supplies allow.
Warren County residents who are eligible for vaccination under the "comorbidities" phase of distribution should contact their physician for more information, as Warren County is supplying medical providers with vaccine from New York State for this population. New York State vaccination guidelines for those with comorbidities are available here: on.ny.gov/3jxqoQd.
Pharmacies have also been designated as vaccine locations for those 65-and-over, and their supplies and the number of pharmacies getting vaccine have been increasing.
New York State-run clinics have been designated for remaining groups that qualify for vaccination. As of Wednesday morning, clinics in Utica, Syracuse, Plattsburgh and Potsdam had appointments available. Check here for appointments at state clinics: am-i-eligible.covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/.
