From World Awareness Children’s Museum
The World Awareness Children’s Museum is celebrating its 31st Annual International Cuisine and Auction and we will be hosting this year’s event outdoors at the Lake George Festival Commons on Sunday, June 13, 2021!
Every year, we host more than 200 guests to dine on a wide array of delicious international foods and our Raffle, Live and Silent Auctions present a variety of over 80 unique items and experiences for you and your loved ones. This event continues to be the Museum’s biggest fundraiser, with a goal this year to raise more than $50,000 for programming and support of our mission driven work. This year, we have decided to move this family-friendly event outdoors to the Lake George Festival Commons in order to allow for our ever-growing guest list!
We are looking for your help!

Of the new Lake George station, Mayor Blais said, “Having a radio station in Lake George is going to keep local residents, as well as visitors to the region, up-to-date and informed about a lot of things they need to know, and that's going to be extremely important as we move forward. Congratulations! We look forward to this being a great journey together on the radio.”

Grow, Eat, Compost, Repeat! International Compost Awareness Week is May 2-8
AdkAction’s Compost for Good project is joining environmental and recycling businesses, organizations, community groups and individuals around the globe in celebrating International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW) during the first week of May. The theme of this year’s Compost Awareness Week is “Grow, Eat... COMPOST... Repeat.”
“The theme recognizes the circular movement of the organics recycling process flowing from farm to table to farm again. This circular process turns recycled organic materials into compost which creates healthy soils leading to more nutrient dense fruits and vegetables, with those organic residuals going back to being composted and the process starts again,” explained Amy Freeman, ICAW Committee Chair.
Throughout the week, AdkAction will be sharing resources and information to build awareness of the benefits of compost use and organics recycling. The Compost for Good team of John Culpepper, Katie Culpepper, and Jennifer Perry will be available to answer questions about composting at any scale, from backyard bins to community composting, through the Compost for Good Discussion Group on Facebook.
In 2020 Compost for Good became a full-fledged AdkAction project, working towards our goal to make organic waste recycling more commonplace throughout the region and engaging in outreach to promote organic waste as a valuable resource.
Learn more about the Compost for Good project at www.AdkAction.org/compost and join the Compost for Good community on Facebook: Compost for Good Discussion Group.

Saratoga Hospital Expands Nephrology Services in Glens Falls
Saratoga Hospital’s Dr. Michael Bourla now sees patients at Saratoga Nephrology at Glens Falls, making it easier for those with chronic kidney disease and related conditions to access specialty care close to home.
Bourla joins Dr. Amy Hogan Moulton at the Glens Falls location at 2 Broad Street Plaza. Both physicians are members of Saratoga Hospital Medical Group – Nephrology.
Nephrologists are doctors who treat diseases and conditions that affect the kidneys and their ability to function. Kidney disease is more common in people 65 and older, and an aging population and diabetes are fueling the increasing demand for these specialists.
A graduate of Duke University, Bourla earned his medical degree at Albert Einstein school of Medicine in New York City. He completed an internship and residency at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, followed by a two-year clinical fellowship in nephrology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Bourla is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology.
