Black History and Black History in the Making
Feb. 15, 2021
This month we celebrate Black history and Black history in the making!
One year ago today, February 15, All Of Us launched on Facebook. It was the beginning of our stand as an organization committed to Black Liberation and an end to all forms of oppression and exploitation. Today we announce another beginning, the launch of our website www.allofusuntitledandfree.com.
Also, join All Of Us Community Action Group online for a series of viewings and discussions about the Black leaders who have paved the way towards our liberation and discuss what lessons we can learn as we continue the fight today.

Ballston Spa National Bank offers Community Support for The Charlton School
February 15, 2021
The Charlton School is very pleased to announce a generous donation of $25,000 by the Ballston Spa National Bank to its Next Chapter Capital Campaign Fund. The “Next Chapter” is a twenty-year plan focused on renovating their 75-year-old-campus, one building at a time. The next phase, which is scheduled to begin Spring of 2022, is focused on the establishment of new student campus housing and the building of modern dormitory facilities.
“On behalf of BSNB, we are excited and proud to help support the critical work the Charlton School provides,” stated Chris Dowd, BSNB president and CEO. “This Capital Campaign is an important step in better preparing their campus for the 21st century and is reflective of the ongoing care and respect that they have for all of their students."
The Charlton School, located at 322 Lake Hill Road in Burnt Hills, is a therapeutic learning community for students who struggle with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder or complex traumas. The Charlton School also sees students who exhibit school refusal, fragility or withdrawal; students lacking in self-esteem, motivation or social skills; or students who are struggling with relationship or identity issues.

Resumption of Elective/Non-Emergent procedures
Feb. 12, 2021
Glens Falls Hospital announced today that it will begin restarting elective/non-emergent procedures beginning February 22.
“Glens Falls Hospital staff will be reaching out to our patients to confirm rescheduled dates for their surgeries and procedures,” said the hospital’s Chief Operating Officer Paul Scimeca. “We’ll continue to increase capacity as quickly as possible in order to care for those patients waiting for a surgical procedure.”
The hospital curtailed non-emergent procedures voluntarily in late December as the number of hospitalized COVID patients increased at GFH and throughout the region. This was to redeploy staff to medical/surgical units to care for the increased number of inpatients.

“Clean Water, Safe Roads Partnership” Awarded Funding for Road Salt Reduction in Champlain Basin
Feb. 11, 2021
Keeseville, NY - AdkAction has been awarded $50,000 by the Lake Champlain Basin Program for a new “Clean Water, Safe Roads'' partnership to reduce salt polluting the 125-mile-long lake between New York and Vermont. Together with partners from Paul Smith’s College Adirondack Watershed Institute and Lake Champlain Sea Grant, this project will implement a comprehensive, personalized outreach and education program to municipal highway departments in the Lake Champlain Basin.
In 2017 AdkAction developed a Pledge to Reduce Road Salt for municipal partners which demonstrates a community’s commitment to work in good faith to reduce the levels of road salt application. “Clean Water, Safe Roads'' will support continued education and outreach to Champlain Basin municipalities in New York State who have already signed on to the program’s Pledge to Reduce Road Salt and bring additional municipalities on board.
Through ongoing education and outreach, community leaders will stay informed about best practices for road salt reduction and be supported in the implementation of community action plans, resulting in a cleaner and healthier freshwater ecosystem for New York, Vermont, and Quebec communities in the Champlain Basin.
