CT Male wins update to contract with Queensbury
The Queensbury Town Board awarded a contract amendment to CT Male Associates of Latham, the engineering firm looking into the water supply in the Jenkinsville area of Queensbury. The additional $5,800 was added to the original contract of $16,800 at the Sept. 27 meeting. CT Male is updating a water study they had completed for the town in 1999. The Jenkinsville area of Queensbury is not served by town water, and some local, residential well water is tainted with 1,4-Dioxane. This study is part of the town’s understanding of the problem and possible solutions that may include expanding the town’s water system to unserved areas and the impact that has on the system. EHS Risk Management wins safety consulting contract
Queensbury approved a contract with EHS Risk Management LLC at their Sept. 27 town board meeting. The contract is for “professional safety consulting services." Ward 1 board member Anthony Metivier explained that the $6,000 contract will help the town mitigate worker’s compensation claims. The contract covers the first of three tasks, the initial assessment. If the work continues, the company will also set up an online reporting portal and then manage the system, the contract says.
Worker’s compensation claims were astronomical in years past, Metevier said during the meeting, adding, “This is money, extremely, extremely well spent.”
