Glens Falls entrepreneur Elizabeth Miller has added 126 Glen Street, the former TV-8 building on the corner of Glen and Park streets, to her real estate portfolio. Miller purchased the 11,500-square-foot, three-story building across from Cool Insuring Arena for $845,000. The deal closed Friday, Aug, 12. The building adds to her collection of buildings along Park Street that are in use or under development.
The sellers were Dr. Dan George, a Glens Falls native and Connecticut orthopedic surgeon, and New York City architect Joe Serins. They purchased the building for $475,000 in December of 2016.
The sale included 20 private parking spaces, listing agent R. Mark Levack said.
Miller said it was those parking spaces connected to 126 Glen that attracted her to the building. She already owns the Park Theater Building, Doc's Restaurant and apartments on Park Street. Parking in that area can be limited.
The parking spaces run behind the buildings at 126, 128 and 138 Glen Street from Park Street almost to Hudson Avenue. Real estate developer Peter Hoffman owns six parking spots behind the Kru Coffee building at 140 Glen St.
She said she has no plans for the new building “until we finish the building next door.”
Miller and her son, Ben, are in the midst of transforming 15-25 Park St. into a mixed use building. They have been spending $5 million to create a restaurant space at street level and upscale apartments on the second floor. They plan to move Doc’s Restaurant from the Park Theater Building across the street into the renovated space.
“I am anxious to get everything done,” she said.

She said there is already interest in 126 Glen.
“I was showing the first floor space to someone this morning, who is looking at it as a possible community-friendly event space,” she said.
The last piece of the puzzle is the Empire Pizza and Trailways bus station building, which occupies the corner of Hudson and Elm Streets.
“I have offered to buy the property multiple times,” Miller said. “That would be the final piece.”
Levack of Levack Real Estate represented the sellers and secured the buyer.
126 Glen was listed for $695,000. Taxes are $14,956 annually, according to listing information.
The entire block will be closed on Thursday for a block party and arts festival from 5 to 8 p.m., Miller said. The first floor of 15-25 Park Street will be open for people to check out.
Miller owns commercial real estate and manufacturing companies.
