Glens Falls: 144 Glen, the Domino's Pizza building, sells
Investors from New Jersey purchased 144 Glen Street in Glens Falls for $470,000 on Monday.
Rich Blake of the Leavitt McCarthy Team, who represented the sellers Stephen, Janet and Larry George, confirmed the sale.
The three-and-a-half story building on Centennial Circle is home to Domino’s Pizza.
Blake said the Georges once owned the Domino’s franchise but sold it years ago. They purchased the building from Nick Barber in 1986.
Blake said there is a two-bedroom apartment on the second floor. The third and fourth floors are vacant.
The 6,552-square-foot building was on the market for three years, Blake said, adding that at least two other deals fell through before the building was sold.
Steve Borgos, an associate broker with Hanna Commercial Real Estate, represented the buyers, who he said are investors from New Jersey. He didn’t know much about their plans, but did say they are planning to live in the building at least part of the time.
Moreau: Cerrone Builders buys acreage
Cerrone Builders paid $900,000 for 43 acres on Route 9 across from the Moreau Rescue Squad just north north of Reservoir Road. Cerrone’s headquarters are adjacent to the new parcel, as is Cerrone’s Pinewood Estates development on Reservoir Road.
Pinewood Estates is one of several Cerrone developments in Moreau. The company’s website says it has built more than 400 homes in the region, including West Mountain Estates in Queensbury and Schuyler Hills in Saratoga Springs.
The property is assessed for $312,300.
According to stories in the Albany Business Journal, Cerrone had proposed building a marijuana growing facility on the site, but after pushback have apparently shifted their focus to the Moreau Industrial Park.
“They are considering purchasing some lots," in the park, Moreau Town Supervisor Todd Kusnierz tells me.
Bob Sears from Berkshire Hathaway Blake represented the sellers, a family estate in the name of Alice E. Kostek of Jacksonville, Florida.
Buyers’ agent was Mike Pugh of Better Way Realty.
Messages left with Cerrone Builders were not returned by press time.
