Democratic Mayoral candidate Ron Kim calls for vaccine mandate for city workers
Sept. 13: Following President Biden’s executive order requiring all federal employees to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, Saratoga Springs Democratic mayoral candidate Ron Kim announced his support for a similar mandate for Saratoga Springs city employees.
“On day one as your Mayor,” Kim said, “I will propose legislation requiring all city employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19. We cannot afford a repeat of the economic and public health devastation our community experienced last winter, and I will do everything in my power as your Mayor to keep our city safe and healthy.”
Additionally, Kim announced that on day one, he will ask the City Center Authority to require proof of vaccination for all visitors attending events at the venue. “Vaccination requirements for City Center events make our city safer for both visitors and residents,” Kim said. “It is the responsibility of city leaders to be proactive and take positive steps to secure the health of Saratogians and all those who wish to enjoy what our city has to offer.”
