Sustainable PR, a green-focused public relations agency in Glens Falls, NY, is partnering with the City of Glens Falls and Crandall Public Library to host its 3rd annual Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 22 nd from 10:00 am-2:00 pm.
This year’s kid and pet-friendly outdoor community event will be held behind the Crandall Public Library in Glens Falls’ City Park and expects to more than double the number of exhibitors from year’s prior. The day will be packed with interactive sustainability-related activities, informative commentary from notable climate-speakers, an electronics recycling drop-off, and table displays from regional climate advocacy groups, environmental organizations, and local sustainably minded businesses. And for the first time, there will be electric vehicle (EV) displays, as well as an Earth Day themed raffle featuring eco-friendly and climate conscious items donated by local businesses.
By providing a fun and enriching Earth Day event for the community—with activities for all ages—Sustainable PR hopes to continue to build connections and facilitate conversations concerning sustainability and how collaborative action can help protect the environment, create economic opportunities, and thwart climate change.
City of Saratoga Springs Announces Earth Day Celebration
From a press release: The City of Saratoga Springs is proud to announce its upcoming Earth Day celebration on April 22, 2023. This year’s event will include a call to action for local citizens to volunteer and help pick up garbage and litter from the front of their homes and the right of way areas, in honor of the 25th Anniversary of the “Keep America Beautiful” movement. The event will culminate in a community cleanup event in Congress Park from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
Commissioner of Accounts Dillon Moran and Commissioner of Public Works Jason Golub will be in attendance to support this event. Commissioner Moran expressed his excitement for the event and urged citizens to get involved. “Earth Day is an important opportunity to raisem awareness about the critical need to protect our environment,” said Commissioner Moran. “By volunteering to pick up litter and garbage from our neighborhoods and public space, we can all do our part to create a cleaner and more sustainable future for our community.”
Commissioner Golub echoed Commissioner Moran’s sentiments and expressed his appreciation for public-private collaboration for cleaning up the City’s downtown public parking garages.
“We are especially grateful for the generous donation of time and resources by Bonacio Construction and Stewart’s Shops to help clean up our downtown public parking garages. This is an excellent opportunity for all of us to come together and make a positive impact on our environment.”
Saratoga County Supervisor Matt Veitch added his appreciation for the Southwest Neighborhood
Association’s commitment to the cause. “We are thrilled to partner with the Southwest Neighborhood Association and all of our citizens for this important event,” said Supervisor Veitch.
