Sustainable PR, a Glens Falls public relations agency, announced the addition of three new clients this week: Glens Falls Urban Agriculture Pilot; the High Peaks Impact Awards at the University at Albany’s School of Business; and (re) x, a California eco-friendly design company.
The agency promotes green-focused clients helps them deliver on their sustainably focused missions and goals, a statement from the company said. They especially focus on earned media, that is in securing coverage of the work the clients do in news stories or social media posts and other activity. Tony DeFazio, the founder and president of Sustainable PR, launched the company late last year.
Jeff Flagg, the Glens Falls Economic Development Director and leader of the Urban Agriculture Pilot, said in an interview last week that he was happy to have the help on the communications side.
“We’re already benefiting from Tony’s media savvy and advice, and I am proud and pleased to have him on our communications team…[DeFazio] was a natural choice for our urban agriculture project,” Flagg said in the statement.
The pilot agricultural project will develop a self-contained vertical farming system, designed to grow a wide variety of vegetables, herbs, and plants using office spaces in Glens Falls that are currently vacant. In small, indoor garden beds totalling about 300 square feet, a farmer and a team of volunteers will grow crops and see what is feasible beyond this test, Flagg said in a previous story. The High Peaks Impact Awards, a new award program sponsored by the University at Albany’s Business School, will honor regional businesses for excellence in the personification of Environmental Social Governance (ESG) practices.
In an interview today, DeFazio said he will have more to announce about the HPIA next week.
The Los Angeles-based company (re) x, pronounced “re-to-the-x,” is creating clothes hangers from recycled plastics. Designer Paulina Quintana's mission is to produce sustainable products in everyday use, the press release says.
“We are honored to help these organizations promote their sustainable attributes,” DeFazio said in the release. “Since day one, we have emphasized how our expertise in earned media services can be a driver for companies with a mission in sustainability. The addition of these three clients is testament to the strength of that vision and the appeal of our offering.”
