Fort William Henry overhaul wins tax incentives
The Fort William Henry Resort in Lake George Village has won a tax incentive for its Carriage House renovation from the Warren-Washington Industrial Development Agency, the Albany Business Journal is reporting. [Read more in our news and notes column, here.] The incentive is worth about $423,855 over 10 years on a renovation expected to cost about $6.5 million. The resort is looking to book about 60 weddings — and larger weddings than in the past — in future years, the story says.

King Brothers Dairy sending milk to NYC Marathon
Saratoga County’s King Brothers Dairy is giving 5,000 bottles of chocolate milk to female runners after the NYC Marathon, the Times Union is reporting. The move is part of a larger promotion by “Team Milk” to support women runners before, during and after the race. Milk may support muscle rebuilding post-race, the story says.
Queensbury doctor gets probation on tax evasion
Queensbury-based doctor Ehab Kodsi was sentenced to one year of probation, 100 hours of community service and a $25,000 fine for federal tax crimes on Thursday, the Times Union is reporting. He has already paid $246,212 in taxes owed on more than $800,000 of unreported income. This is the second bout of legal trouble for the owner of Total Care & Rehabilitation Medicine in Queensbury. He recently settled a suit over unwanted sexual advances, for $75,000.
Second HAB in Mirror Lake
The Adirondack Watershed Institute has confirmed that Mirror Lake in the Village of Lake Placid saw a harmful algal bloom this week, the second reported bloom in two years, the Adirondack Daily Enterprise is reporting. The AWI is telling people and pets to avoid the water for the next few days. The story cites the state Department of Health which tells people to avoid HABs or risk diarrhea, nausea or vomiting; skin, eye or throat irritation; allergic reactions or breathing issues.
