NJ company buys Queensbury warehouse property
A New Jersey commercial real estate company has acquired a Dix Avenue property in Queensbury where Just Water operates. The purchase price for the 9.5 acre property that includes three buildings was $3.35 million, the Albany Business Journal says. Glens Falls real estate developer Mark Levack and a partner sold the property to the New Jersey-based company that is moving into the warehouse business.
Indian Ladder Farms partners for distribution
Indian Ladder Farms Cidery and Brewery of Altamont has partnered with DeCrescente Distributing Co. Revenues for the specialty beverage company have grown 30% year-over-year since 2016, and the owners looked to more distribution to help fill the expanding market, a story in the Albany Business Journal says. The company had been handling wholesale distribution itself, the story says.
Biochar back at Planning
The planned Saratoga Biochar facility goes before the Town of Moreau Planning Board again tonight, Monday July 18, and the discussion may revolved around the approval of the site plan, says a story (p. 7) in the Chronicle. Warren-Washington IDA looking toward new leadership
If current Warren-Washington Industrial Development Agency chair Dave O’Brien steps down in the next 18 months — it is a vague plan — the economic development group may reconfigure leadership in order to handle larger projects at the Canalside Energy Park in Fort Edward, a story in the Post-Star says. The group is considering consultants and the technical expertise of future leaders, the story says.
County, CSEA reach pay agreement
The Warren County Board of Supervisors and the 237 members of the Civil Service Employees Association Unit 9000 reached an agreement to increase pay by $2.75 an hour, effective Aug. 1, a story in the Post-Star says. The board agreed to the increase in order to counter inflation and attract employees, the story says. The county has 756 employees total and has begun negotiations with other union- and non-union workers, the story says.
Greenjackets win game under fire
A brawl and apparent gunfire at a Glens Falls Greenjackets football away game allowed the local semi-pro team to win the game by forfeit, the Post-Star is reporting. The Empire Football League game Saturday July 16 against the Syracuse Smash ended at the start of the fourth quarter when the fight started in the Smash’s side of the bleachers, the story said. The game was called for the Greenjackets, despite being behind by six points at the time.
