Masked guests, segregated by vaccination status, will be allowed to attend concerts, horse races and baseball games, filling the venues if possible under those rules, the Albany Business Journal is reporting. Governor Andrew Cuomo’s office announced the change to full-capacity for stadiums and amphitheatres but the attendees will have to show proof of vaccination. Those without vaccination will be kept from sitting with the fully-vaccinated and will have to maintain a six-foot separation.
Elise Stefank, the North Country’s representative in the House of Representatives, is poised to win the leadership position currently held by Liz Chaney, the Post-Star (and every political news website) is reporting this morning. She would take the role of GOP House Conference chair. The political fight between the two centers around support for former president Donald Trump and his debunked narrative that his election loss was a fraud, the story says.
New York State’s moratorium on evictions has been extended four more months and people can apply for aid, the Adirondack Daily Enterprise is reporting. Aid for tenants to pay rent and landlords to pay property taxes is being made available. The bill had its detractors on both sides of the aisle, with the arguments mainly centered on the needs of small landlords who have not been paid rent but cannot evict tenants, the story says.

Plans for a marijuana dispensary in Glens Falls have been tabled, the Post-Star is reporting this morning. The owner of the building at 56 Glen St. (at the bottom of the hill, across Glen from the Cool Insuring Arena) and his partner say in the story they were not hurt by the tabling, as the city has been in contact with them and talking about how to proceed with retail sales. Many questions remain about how retail sales of pot in general will be handled by localities.
