Cotton Point on the west shore of Lake George between the village and Bolton Landing has permission to add docks to the Basin Bay side of the point, according to a story in the Post-Star over the weekend. The construction includes four docks and a couple of sundecks, the story says, and they are tied to property across the narrow, two-lane street. Neighbors fought the project citing safety concerns, especially at night. It’s an area without street lights.
Also in the Post-Star: the Lake George Park Commission has approved stormwater regulations that give the state’s streams that enter the lake a 35-foot buffer and prevent people from using fertilizer within 50 feet of any body of water or wetland within the Lake George Park. These were the first changes to stormwater rules since 1998.

President Joe Biden offered a plan last week that would give people an eight-year path to citizenship. The group is also advocating for an expansion of the agricultural worker visa.

Saratoga’s ReWire is shifting focus, somewhat, toward green energy in the state sector, says a story in the Albany Business Journal. The company develops new software for energy services and analysis of energy use, helping clients plan for the best energy usage in new construction. They have secured contracts with SUNY and as subcontractors on other state projects, the story says.
