Municipalities are eyeing the federal stimulus package that is near consensus in the federal government, the Adirondack Daily Enterprise is reporting. Two Adirondack counties will receive about $17 million and disperse it to localities, the story says. Sen. Chuck Schumer says the bill includes $3.9 billion for New York’s counties.
The investigation of Gov. Andrew Cuomo has taken the next step as Attorney General Letitia James appointed Joon H. Kim and Anne L. Clark to lead an investigation into the claims of sexual harrassment made by at least five women against the governor, the Albany Business Journal is reporting.
The number of leaders who have called for the governor to resign has risen by two. New York State Assembly member Carrie Woerner, a Democrat from Round Lake, and member Matt Simpson, a Republican from Horicon, have added their names to the list, the Post-Star is reporting. The two joined Republican Dan Stec of Queensbury who called for the resignation last week.

A practice-a-thon in Saratoga is raising money for the Franklin Community Center and SPAC a story in the Saratogian says. Students in middle and high school are asking friends and family to donate money based on the number of hours the student practices band and orchestra instruments during March. Students interviewed for the story are having fun and getting donations from their grandparents, the story says. In turn, the money will be donated to FCC and SPAC.

A Dollar General store is proposed for Bloomingdale, the ADE is reporting. The store on Route 3, north of Saranac Lake, is receiving some local push-back, but leaders say the store followed Adirondack Park Agency zoning guidelines, so the permit has been issued.
