Geraghty holds GOP nod, will face Larkin in November
Incumbent Supervisor Kevin Geraghty of Warrensburg held off a challenge from Bud York in the primary to be the Republican Party’s choice for town supervisor this November, the Post-Star says. York had run on the idea that Geraghty was a good person but term limits must apply. Anthony Metivier holds on to the GOP in Queensbury, as well. He had a challenge from the right. [Metivier has lost some support among Republican leadership in Queensbury, as an email received by FoothillsBusinessDaily.com last week called Metivier’s challenger, John Kassebaum, the “true Republican” by town board members Tim McNulty and George Ferone.] Warrensburg Town Board member, Rich Larkin, a Democrat, will face Geraghty.

The state still has not finalized rules and regulations for retail dispensaries, so at least two of the strip mall owners are taking a wait-and-see position before making a decision.

The U.S. House of Representatives is looking to create a $52 billion fund to help chip makers compete with China's semiconductor industry. The bill has passed in the Senate and is supported by President Joe Biden. GlobalFoundries, Intel and Samsung are looking to upstate New York for possible factories, the story says.
