The shuttle company reaches into “transportation deserts” with its “Get-to-Work” program, a program that has gained popularity as too few workers are chasing too many jobs this summer, the story says. E. coli closes Million Dollar Beach
Million Dollar Beach was closed on Saturday after routine testing found elevated levels of E. coli, the Post-Star is reporting. According to CBS, Channel 6 in Albany, the beach reopened on Sunday.
Oscar’s Smokehouse is 75
Oscar’s Adirondack Smokehouse of Warrensburg celebrated 75 years over the weekend, the Post-Star is reporting. A few dozen people swung by the venue on Saturday to celebrate with franks and burgers, the story says. The father-and-son owners, Jerry and Joq Quintal, said their success comes from strong family ties and loyal employees who put the customer first, the story says.
Dems rearrange slate in SpaCity
The Democratic slate of candidates in Saratoga Springs appears to be final, at this point, the Times-Union is reporting. Mayoral candidate Ron Kim blamed the commission form of government for the elasticity in those running. John Franck is not running again for the seat of Commissioner of Accounts. Dillon Moran was substituted, though he had been on the ticket to run for public works. Domenique Yermolayev took the DPW candidacy. Minita Sanghvi is running for commissioner of finance. Sarah Burger's name was on the petition for finance position, but there is no word from her, according to the story.
