Memorial Day ceremonies
Local Memorial Day ceremonies called on people to remember the fallen daily, not just on Memorial Day, the Post-Star is reporting. Among the speakers at the Glens Falls Cool Insuring Arena were state Sen. Dan Stec and U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik. Warren County Supreme Court Judge Robert Muller called on people, even if they themselves do not serve in the military, to offer support to those in the military and their families, the story says. A ceremony honoring the fallen was held at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. The cemetery’s director said the location provides a way for people to see the price of freedom every day, according to a story in the Saratogian. In Tupper Lake, speakers urged people to wear bright, red, poppy flowers to show support and acknowledge the sacrifice made by service members and their families, a story in the Adirondack Daily Enterprise says.

Ticonderoga's new golf clubhouse

The two-storey, 12,720 square foot building has balconies and terraces, two bars and a restaurant open for lunch and dinner.
Salem to get a mobile health clinic
The Salem area is getting a mobile health clinic, starting this month, the Post-Star is reporting. After Glens Falls Hospital pulled back hours at their clinic in Salem, the town has been searching for health options, the story says. They found help in Hudson Headwaters Health Network. With a mission to serve rural areas, HHHN was able to access different federal funds to help with the clinics, funds Glens Falls Hospital could not use, the story says.
