Golf club shifting ownership
The Van Patten Golf Club in Clifton Park is shifting from the VanPatten family, and the new owners see potential, the Albany Business Journal is reporting this morning. The club with an 18- and a 9-hole course, pro shop and banquet hall already had a strong reputation, but the new owners are looking to make the club an event destination in the Capital Region, on par or better than Saratoga National golf course, the story says.
Warren County committee OKs occupancy tax changes
A Warren County committee has signed off on a plan that distributes occupancy tax funds to local organizations and event coordinators based on “how effective they are in drawing overnight visitors, increasing amenities that support guests and increasing regional visitation,” a story in the Post-Star says. The new application form will also ask organizers to explain how they are partnering with other businesses and are improving life in the area.
Saranac bike share on hold
DACK Bikes, a start-up bike-sharing company in Saranac Lake, has the bikes and the racks to run the company, but they do not have the permission they thought they did, a story in the Adirondack Sun is reporting. The company began to install a rack at one location on private property but found out they needed the village’s approval, the story says, adding they thought they already had it.
Glens Falls Living posted their weekender
The final concert in Park Theater’s Friday night concert series runs tonight, Glens Falls Living says in their "Weekender" post. Friday night movies in City Park are back, this week showing “Wreck it Ralph” at dusk. “Bring the kiddos and a picnic blanket!” the site says.
