Thomas Murphy, CEO of Arrow Financial of Glens Falls, has been named to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York's board of directors, the Albany Business Journal is reporting. He will represent banks with capital of less than $40 million. Murphy says he’ll be looking to his peers in the banking industry and bringing their concerns to the board. His term lasts three years. Arrow is the parent company of Glens Falls National and Saratoga National banks.

The building that is home to The West Side Sports Bar & Grill in Saratoga Springs has been sold, but the bar and other tenants will remain, the Albany Business Journal is reporting this morning. The new owner, contractor and developer John Munter of MELH LLC, bought the property for $775,000 from the estate of his friend Daniel Snyder of Chestwood Construction and Remodeling in Saratoga Springs, the story says.

Washington County will survey citizens to figure out who has broadband internet access, the Post-Star is reporting this morning. The goal, the story says, is to figure out where high-speed fiber optic cable reaches in the county, find gaps in coverage and build a plan to fill the gaps.

Big Tupper Ski Area may enter foreclosure in the spring, and if it does, the Town of Tupper Lake may step in to purchase it, the Adirondack Daily Enterprise is reporting. This would bring the town full-circle, as the developer of the area in the 1960s who sold it in the 1980s. Many details about the purchase and who would run it need to be worked out, the story says.
