The mother-and-son team of Nirmala Patel and Niral Patel have been struggling financially for over a year, before the coronavirus pandemic hit, and now, with hotel room reservations and dine-in eating well below expectations, a primary lender stepped in to foreclose. The move is a chance to reorganize.

In his fourth, virtual, State of the State address, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that Fort Edward will be the site of a 20 megawatt solar power production plant, and Franklin County will be home to a 90 megawatt plant, the Post-Star is reporting this morning. Development of the land will begin when the permits are in place, with groundbreaking by the end of the year, the story says.
Travel, Tourism and Recreation
For this first time in 40 years, the Oklahoma training race track in Saratoga Springs will get a major renovation, Saratoga Today is reporting. About one-third of the $1 million budget will cover new safety railings on the horse track. The bed and drainage on the track will also be improved.

Blue Cross Blue Shield Association has announced that they are cutting funding to lawmakers who refused to certify the Electoral College votes for President-elect Joe Biden, the Adirondack Daily Enterprise is reporting. This includes donations to Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY21) whose campaign and political action committee received $28,000 from the association in the 2020 election cycle. Other major companies have announced cuts, also. They had given about $50,000 to Stefanik and related PACs in the last cycle, the story says.
