The city of Albany has closed down until at least noon today, due to the foot-or-more of snow dumped upon the region last night and into today, the Albany Times-Union is reporting. The capital region could see 20 inches of snow, the story says. The National Weather Service has the area under a winter storm warning until 1 p.m.
A study of the EMS system in the Town of Queensbury suggests that the three independent EMS agencies that contract with the town--Bay Ridge, North Queensbury and West Glens Falls--merge to form one agency, but that is not likely to happen, a story in the Post-Star says. Better cooperation between the systems might be in the works.
Hudson Falls’ leadership is looking to raise $400,000 to fund the Derby Park restoration project, a story in the Post-Star reports this morning. COVID-19 has thrown a wrench into the works, lifting the cost of the project to $1.8 million from $1.4 million, the story states.

Despite the pandemic, a survey of local hiring managers found that the forecast for the first six months of 2021 is rather strong; 54% said they’re planning to hire and 57% said they are looking to remote work.

A Malone woman who survived the Las Vegas mass shooting in 2017 is bringing weighted Teddy Bears to others in need through her work with comfortcub.org, the Adirondack Daily Enterprise is reporting. The teddy bears are heavier than a regular plush toy, in order to simulate the weight of holding an infant. People find it therapeutic, according to Comfort Cub.
