The Mullen Iron Works building is coming down. On Bay Road in Queensbury, the building was abandoned a couple decades ago, and town officials say they are happy to raze “the eyesore,” a story in the Post-Star reports. The town foreclosed after the property accrued $300,000 in back taxes.

The fire that gutted the Grist Mill restaurant in Warrensburg Sunday was an accident, the Post-Star reports, though the investigation continues. The owners say they would like to rebuild.
Manufacturing, Agriculture and Forestry
About 14,500 Christmas trees will be delivered to military bases worldwide. About 100 come from the north country, the Saratogian is reporting. The collection of trees, which took place in Ballston Spa on Monday, is part of the Trees for Troops program.
Health Care and Fitness
Gov. Andrew Cuomo is telling hospitals to hoard personal protective devices and prepare for a surge of new COVID-19 patients, the Adirondack Daily Enterprise is reporting. In a press briefing, Cuomo told hospitals to make room for patients, find retired doctors and nurses who might come back to help, and look to coordinate efforts between facilities, the story says. The governor said 65% of cases are now being spread in small gatherings, not in bars and restaurants.

The capital region housing market is still booming, the Times-Union reports this morning. Sales that closed in October were 15% over last October, and houses offered for sale in October were 10% higher than October 2019.
