Planned warehouse in Saratoga Springs
Brothers John and Mike Munter filed plans to develop a warehouse on some of the 10.34-acre site they own on the Grande Industrial Park in Saratoga Springs, the Albany Business Journal is reporting. The brothers say they see a demand for a 70,000 square foot warehouse, the story says.
Governor’s problems create biz uncertainty
The president of the Business Council of New York State, told the Albany Business Journal that the governor’s problems are creating political uncertainty for companies, and just when the economy is climbing out of the pandemic. Businesses want stability, and the report from the state attorney general—it says Gov. Andrew Cuomo sexaully assaulted or created a harmful work environment for at least 11 women—does anything but calm the waters, especially since the governor refuses to step down and might be forced from office. The disruption to this year's legislative session is causing confusion and delay for business owners, the story says.
Saranac Marina legal battle is over
The legal fight for the Lower Saranac Marina is over, says a story in the Adirondack Explorer. The plaintiff in the case against the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, the Adirondack Park Agency and the LS Marina may appeal. Essex County Judge Richard Meyer dismissed Thomas Jorling’s case. Jorling is a former DEC commissioner who said the agencies must consider the environmental impact of another marina in the three-lake-chain. The “carrying capacity” of a lake is at issue and was not clarified by the dismissal, the story says. Last fall, the APA OKed LS Marina’s expansion of boat storage, covered dock slips and more, the story says.
