More stories of the Guerra-arrest-Dalton-on-the-porch, investigation
FoothillsBusinessDaily.com’s coverage of the latest portion of the story about last week's election and its aftermath is here, in which Commissioner of Public Safety Robin Dalton acknowledged that she was hoping to talk to Samantha Guerra about the investigation into election petitions signed by the Republican, who ran a close but likely losing campaign for Commissioner of Accounts against Democrat Dillon Moran and Accountability Party nominee Angela Rella. Dalton found Guerra on her front porch after trying to get her phone number. The GOP is calling that discussion interference. The absentee ballots still need to be counted and enough exist that they might shift the outcome of the election.
In the Daily Gazette, they focus on the Saratoga Springs Police Department involvement in the case as Robin Dalton as Commissioner of Public Safety oversees the police and fire departments in the city, and therefore could have had influence over the SSPD investigation. The commissioner and police deny the allegations.
In the Times Union, they focus on that as well as the idea that the GOP attorney for Guerra postponed her arrest from Monday, the day before election day, to Wednesday Nov. 3, the day after. Also covered in that story: The video of a very drunk Dillon Moran on election night using the slur “ret--d” against the people video taping him. He later admited to being very drunk and posted his apology to his facebook page, the story says.
Editor's Note: We originally state the wrong party for Angela Rella. It has been corrected and we apologize for the error.
