Congressional maps now hurt Democrats, 21st reaches Spa City
A new draft congressional map issued by a "special master" on Monday is bad news for Democrats an analyst with the Cook Political Report says in the Times Union. This revision comes after the courts struck down maps drawn by state Democrats. The proposed map alters some existing boundaries for incumbents and makes some districts more competitive, the story says.
The map story from the Post-Star: All of Warren and Washington counties plus Moreau, Wilton and Saratoga Springs in Saratoga County will be a single congressional district under proposed new voting district maps, released Monday. They are part of the 21st Congressional District, currently held by Republican U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik. The district loses part of Jefferson county but gains areas near the Capital District, the story says.
