Fat Paulie’s building sold
The two-story commercial building on Congress Street in Saratoga Springs that is home to Fat Paulie’s deli and 32 Mile Productions has sold for $1.42 million, according to a story in the Albany Business Journal. The seller was Donald C. Greene of Fort Lauderdale. The buyer is Daniel Bullis of Congress Springs LLC at 153 Regent St. in Saratoga Springs. He and his wife Dorothy Rogers Bullis founded Saratoga Co-works.

Zeldin visits Poopie’s
GOP Gubernatorial hopeful Lee Zeldin and running mate Alison Esposito stopped by Poopie’s diner in Glens Falls as part of their bid to win the Republican Primary against Andrew Giuliani, Rob Astorino, Michael Carpinelli, Derek Gibson and Harry Wilson. Zeldin said energy policy, especially high gas prices and gas hookups in new construction were topics of conversation. At the same time, he is pro-efficiency and thinks the state should look toward a balance between fossil fuels and renewable energy, a story in the Post-Star says.
Hoosick Falls cleanup starts soon, DEC says
An “Interim Remedial Measure” environmental cleanup at the former Oak-Mitsui Technologies plant site, a state superfund site in Hoosick Falls, will begin soon, a story in the Times Union says. The site shut down in 2014. A cover system with drains and a new sewer system, along with other measures, will be installed.
Iconic Silver Bay General Store gets new owners, celebration
Just in time for Memorial Day and the start of summer, the new owners of the Silver Bay General Store, will be feted by local business groups and leaders, a story in the Adirondack Sun says. The luminaries celebrating the “anchor business” on a lonely stretch of Route 9N in Hague [Editor's note: it's the only gas for miles.] will champion the ownership and expansion of the business. The owners plan to diversify their offerings, the story says.
“Roman around Carnival” is icy theme
The theme of next year’s Winter Carnival in Saranac Lake is “Roman around Carnival.” The Adirondack Daily Enterprise says it was a nail-biter vote as the builder of the Ice Palace, a central element of the carnival, pitched the idea at the last minute. “Roman around Carnival” at first tied with “Music Legends” but won after a discussion among people at the carnival meeting, the story says.
