Saratoga Senior Center hosting volunteer fair.
The Saratoga Senior Center will be hosting a Volunteer Fair on Tuesday, January 17th, from 1 pm – 3 pm. The fair will take place at the Center at 5 Williams Street in Saratoga Springs. Interested volunteers are welcome to come to the Center and learn more.
The fair will feature their Volunteer Coordinator speaking about the various opportunities. Interested volunteers can meet with current volunteers to learn more about specific areas.
Senior Center volunteers are active at the Center, helping with events, computer assistance, mailings, van driving, and more. The Center’s Senior Support Services office also has Community Connections volunteers who go out in the community. Community Connections helps close the gaps in services that a senior might need to remain independent in their homes. These areas could include transportation, friendly visits, telephone check-ins, assistance with grocery shopping, household chores, light handyman projects, errands, computer skills assistance, and other services.
The Fair is sponsored by Highmark of Northeastern New York. Refreshments will be served.
The Saratoga Senior Center is a non-profit, non-residential community center located in the heart of downtown Saratoga Springs, open to adults aged 50 and up to participate in programs, trips & social activities tailored to adults and seniors. Those striving to maintain an independent lifestyle can make new friends, share in a meal, play a game, exercise, take a class or learn a new skill. The social
interaction provided at the Center is essential to physical and mental health. The Center’s Senior Support Services office is here for support and assistance in getting to the right resources.
