Saratoga MLK Jr. Celebration Weekend
More Music, Less Violence
to
The Holiday Inn 232 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, New York 12866
MLK Saratoga's annual Dr. King Celebration Weekend offers a range of programming illuminating, amplifying, and reflecting on social, racial, and economic justice issues. Workshops, performances, lecture and panel discussions will engage community participants on many levels. This year’s theme explores and responds to Dr. King’s reflection, “Songs are the soul of a movement.”
Music and song give expression to pain and grief as well as joy, hope and the resilience of the human spirit. It has been three years since we have gathered in person for this annual tradition. We want to come together to grieve and heal, learn and grow, connect and celebrate. All events are free.
Friday (1/13) 5:30 pm: The 8th Annual Dr. King Challenge: More Music Less Violence hosted and curated by Capital Region’s DJ Hollyw8d, will feature several performing artists, live music, and dancing! Reception with light fare & cash bar, fun art projects, photo booth. Family friendly.
