This year’s illumination of over 250,000 lights will also feature the opening of the Village’s 1st annual Holiday Light Festival with additional displays throughout the downtown area.
The event kicks off with the Bobby Dick and Susie Holiday Show. Kasey’s Cast-a- Ways Fun Farm petting zoo will be there for the children to enjoy, as well as fire pits, apple cider donuts and giveaways from the Lake George Chamber of Commerce.
An Ugly Holiday Sweater contest will take place at 4:45pm with a $250 cash prize.
The Village lights up all the displays at 6:00pm followed by a fireworks show over the lake that signals the beginning of their Holiday Lights Firetruck parade. Over 12 area fire departments compete for $1,500 in prizes, featuring the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus. Three community members will be the judges for the Ugly Sweater Contest and Firetruck Parade.
All families are invited to the Village Firehouse to meet Santa and be entertained by the Lake George Community Band.
Members of the Lake George Teen Center will be serving hot chocolate in the park.
Families are asked to bring an unwrapped toy to donate to the local Marine’s Toys for Boys and Girls. Donors will receive a hot cup of soup.
The Village’s 2019 event drew over 3,000 spectators and officials are again asking those planning to attend to arrive early and take advantage of several stores featuring special bargains, light displays and giveaways.
The event is held regardless of the weather.
