Downtown Glens Falls’ annual Hometown Holidays event, organized by the Glens Falls Collaborative and sponsored by the Glens Falls Business Improvement District, includes Santa traveling through town on Sunday, November 28, at 5 p.m., and includes the annual tree lighting in Glens Falls City Park on Friday, December 3, around 5:30 p.m. Safe holiday shopping is encouraged throughout downtown Glens Falls as well!
Santa Claus will parade around town on Sunday, November 28, beginning at 5 p.m. Santa will travel on a flatbed truck donated by Falls Farm and Garden and will be accompanied by DeeJay Mike DuBray who will be playing holiday music. There is a map showing Santa’s parade route posted on the Glens Falls Collaborative’s website (www.glensfallscollaborative.com). Children are encouraged to come outside and wave to Santa! If the route doesn’t go down your street, you can check the route for another place to watch as Santa goes by.
The annual Downtown Tree Lighting will take place on Friday, December 3, around 5:30 p.m. Mayor Dan Hall and Santa Claus, along with other Holiday friends, will kick off the season by lighting the Downtown Glens Falls tree. Join your friends and neighbors as we celebrate the start of the season.
Adirondack Ballet Theater will also be performing excerpts from The Nutcracker ballet in front of The Charles R. Wood Theater, on Glen Street in Downtown Glens Falls, on Friday, December 3, after the tree lighting. The Bolton Dance School will dance on Glen Street in front of J. Reid Menswear from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sax-o-Claus and his elf will also be roaming the streets and entertaining and Wagon rides will be provided by Circle B Ranch. The World Awareness Children’s Museum will offer activities for children located in a Teepee in City Park. Happy Face FX will be offering face painting (COVID dependent) or Tattoos for children in a vendor tent.Sax-o-Claus and his elf will also be roaming the streets and entertaining.
Have your children written their letter to Santa yet? A mailbox for letters to Santa will appear in front of Glens Falls City Hall on Friday, December 3. Families are invited to drop their letters to Santa in the mailbox and they will be delivered to Santa at the North Pole.
ADK Christkindlmarkt will now be in Downtown Glens Falls! Over 30 vendors, Holiday friends, music, food and drink and more will be found in Downtown Glens Falls from Friday, December 3 through Sunday, December 5, 2021. Hours of the Christkindlmarkt will be Friday, December 3, 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday, December 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, December 5, from 11 to 4 p.m.
