AIM for Connection, a campaign designed to raise awareness and support, is being launched to demonstrate the importance of human connection, not only for those with developmental disabilities, but for all of humankind.
“Connection is at the root of all human needs. It is the doorway to building meaningful relationships, and it’s one of our greatest strengths as an organization here at AIM. We want people to understand the importance of being open and accepting, showing kindness, and getting to know each other,” said Bo Goliber, AIM Services Chief Development and Communications Officer.
The mission of AIM Services, Inc. is to support people with developmental and intellectual disabilities, including those with traumatic brain injury. Through community-based services, advocacy, and education, dedicated professionals focus on supporting people in achieving their personal goals, while promoting a sense of self-confidence and independence.
The annual campaign comes in March each year to coincide with TBI Awareness Month and World Down Syndrome Day (March 21). The message varies, but the goal is always to educate and open hearts and minds to help create a more inclusive community. The robust effort will reach audiences across social media, radio and television. It will be enhanced by a hoodie fundraiser, which has become a fan favorite of AIM supporters who look forward to adding a new sweatshirt design to their collection each year. The design is created by AIM Director of Marketing and Events, Marissa Romero, and it was beautifully incorporated into the video, created by Sheehan Productions.
“We love seeing our staff and supporters wearing our annual message, and we hope it helps shift people’s perspectives in our community,” said Goliber.
In addition to purchasing hoodies, people can contribute to AIM’s fundraising efforts by attending Carnival, a signature event on April 1, to benefit AIM’s arts programming. The Brazilian-inspired event will be held at Vapor at Saratoga Casino and Hotel.
“Our fundraising efforts are what fuel our inspiration and help us go above and beyond to create life-enriching experiences for the people we support,” said Goliber.
