Ed Moore bought the building at 80 Glen Street, at right. He owns the Sawyer's building and the Queensbury Hotel among other property in Glens Falls.
Ed Moore has expanded his Glens Falls real estate holdings, buying 80 Glen St. for $550,000.
The 12,000-square-foot, two-floor building, in what is known as the Fenimore Square neighborhood, is home to ADK Crossfit. It was previously owned by Andy McMahon and Mark Levack, who purchased it in 2001 for $70,000. McMahon bought out Levack in the partnership years ago, Levack said. McMahon Marketing, Inc. occupies the first floor.
Moore and his family own the Queensbury Hotel, French Mountain Commons, Log Jam Outlet Center and the Fairfield by Marriott. Moore also owns the old Sawyer’s building, the massive structure at the top of Glen Street hill that is adjacent to 80 Glen St.
“Yes, I have purchased 80 Glen Street,” Moore told FoothillsBusinessDaily.com when we contacted him for comment. “As time went on, I just thought it was in my best interest to acquire the building because of the parking around it and my interest and ownership of the Sawyer’s building.”
Moore purchased the Sawyer’s building in 2016, the same year he purchased the Queensbury Hotel.
“I have no specific plans for the Sawyer’s building,” he said. “We have a good tenant, VP Supply, in there, and there’s no reason to rush into anything.”
Is Moore on the lookout for more property to purchase?
“No, no more!” he said, laughing. “I want to kick back and relax! But I guess that’s not my nature, is it? We have plenty going on with the Cool Insuring Arena. There are certainly plenty of things to keep me busy.”
Moore is vice president of the Adirondack Civic Center Coalition, which runs Cool Insuring Arena and the Adirondack Thunder hockey team.
Levack, owner of Levack Real Estate, said he represented the seller and secured the buyer.
In other Fenimore Square news, Behan Communications has moved from offices in 86 Glen St. to a smaller space just north in 136 Glen Street.
“We did not need as much space as we had at 86 Glen with people working remotely,” President Mark Behan said when contacted. “Peter Hoffman had a very nice office space available at 136 so we took it, and Morgan Stanley moved into our old space at 86 Glen.
“We are delighted to be so close to our new neighbors at Park & Glen and Kru Coffee. We have seven folks on our team, up one from a year ago. The Park-Elm-Glen neighborhood is bustling with commerce. Call it PEG for progress!”
