Bottled water, dry ice to be distributed Thursday in Chestertown
From a press release: Residents of Warren County who have been affected by power outages from the snowstorm earlier this week will be able to access free bottled water and dry ice at Chestertown Fire Station on Thursday, April 21.
Dry ice and water supplied by National Grid will be available at the Chestertown Fire Department, 5885 NY State Route 8, Chestertown, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on April 21. The fire station will also be open as a warming station during these hours.
About 5,500 National Grid customers in Warren County remained without power as of 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, with restoration for most expected by 12 p.m. Thursday. Chestertown, Johnsburg, Stony Creek and Thurman had the highest percentage of outages as of Wednesday afternoon.
Warren County Emergency Services Director Ann Marie Mason asked that those who are traveling in the affected areas watch for utility and tree removal crews and slow down in work zones, as visibility is limited in some areas where crews are working along rural roads.
