The Town of Bolton voted to approve two sewer system upgrades near Lake George at their meeting earlier today.
Unlike a recent discussion in Queensbury, no members of the public spoke, and the town approved the changes, with conditions that ensured property owners maintained the systems and had ways to shutdown the systems if they failed.
One sewer system was in Pioneer Village, on Lake George’s Northwest Bay. The other was on the “middle island” of the Three Brothers islands chain. Both received a lot of scrutiny from the board. More on this later in the week.
The board also quickly approved a number of resolutions awarding contracts to various companies. All passed unanimously:
Resolution to approve continuation with the Town of Bolton Health Insurance Plans for 2021 under Blue Shield of NENY POS Gold, MVP EPO Platinum and CDPHP HMO Gold or such other health insurance plan as approved by the Town Board.
Resolution to authorize the Supervisor to sign an agreement for Positive Pay Services with TD Bank. Supervisor Ron Conover said it secures the pay system for the town. He said expenses might not even increase as, “We think we may be able to bring on this higher level [of service] by streamlining...what we already have.”
Resolution to authorize the Supervisor to enter into a contract with New York Municipal Insurance Reciprocal (NYMIR) for property and casualty insurance for 2021 at a premium amount not to exceed $83,955.80. Conover said this includes cyber security in case the town has an attack. “We now carry insurance for that,” all for less than original estimate of the tax for 2021.
Resolution to authorize the Supervisor to sign an agreement for 2021 with Hudson Headwaters Health Network for Hepatitis B Vaccination Services for the Town of Bolton at a cost of $65 for each Hepatitis B Vaccination. This is the same price as last year.
