This mansion on Lake George sold last week for a record $8.35 million.
An 11,000-square-foot lakeside mansion just north of Chic’s Marina and Sembrich Museum in Bolton with seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, an elevator, home theater and indoor pool, sold on April 1 for a record $8.35-million.
“It’s the single biggest sale ever on the lake,” said Dan Davies of Davies-Davies & Associates Real Estate, who represented the sellers, Kevin and Mary Beth Maschewski. They own Adirondack Designers & Builders in Bolton.
“It’s one of the most beautiful homes I’ve ever been in on the lake,” Davies said. “Indoor pool and an incredible kitchen.”
The home, built by Kevin Maschewski, sits on 1.59 acres. It has a five-car garage, 12-foot timbered ceilings, stone fireplaces, central vacuum, a pub, home gym, full intercom system and security system, and an arcade.
There are six full bathrooms and three half-baths. A newly built dock has room for up to six boats, and there’s a lakeside patio with a cabana and fireplace. A sprinkler system waters the sloping lawn down to a private beach.
Dragos Minciunescu of Keller Williams represented the buyers, whose identities were not yet available.
Annual taxes are $32,843. The property originally listed for $8.595-million in August 2020.
The listing says the home “has old-world charm with a hint of Adirondack design, providing the appearance of a century-old estate with modern amenities.”
Davies said his firm had $130-million in sales in 2020, and $150-million in sales in 2021.
“We’ve always had buyers from New Jersey, Connecticut and Long Island,” he said. “But this is New York City money. The pandemic offered people a total reset of their life, and many now work from home.”
Davies said that the mansion took Adirondack Designers and Builders five years to build. They are builders of some of the largest and most expensive homes on the lake, including an 8,000 square foot estate home on Cooper Point Island and others on Cleverdale, Pilot Knob and elsewhere.
