On the instrument-side of the house, Dunn, a master luthier, makes cellos (Melnicoff said she had one on order) and other stringed instruments. While Planitzer turned his love of vinyl into a record store. The two businesses share the space at 480 Broadway in downtown Saratoga Springs.
Melnicoff and her family moved to the Capital Region from Brooklyn during the pandemic. She teaches and gigs.
“I feel the music community operates in a completely different way” than in Brooklyn, she said. “There’s a lot more room for individual projects.”
